The foundation of Favodent Karl Huber

It was the aim of the company from the very beginning to meet the specific needs of its customers, at this time mainly dentists and dental technicians. In 1934, Favorit became Favodent Karl Huber - Fabrik für chemische, zahnärztliche und zahntechnische Waren.
With increasing attention being paid to dental hygiene, dental treatment required suitable products for conservative dentistry and there was a need for temporary filling materials. The product range was appropriately extended to meet the requirements of our customers.
Expansion of the product range

Other innovative products designed to help the dentist carry out conservative treatment were launched on the market. Continuous improvement and perfection of the product range was the foremost aim, even at that time, to ensure that quality and efficacy were always a step ahead of the growing requirements.
Temporary filling materials still today constitute a major part of the Favodent product range.
At an early stage in the company development the product program was expanded to include preparations for cleaning and disinfection of small rotary instruments. One such product is BOHRICIN. This product area was further extended with the introduction of INSTROPUR for cleaning and disinfection of hand-held instruments, such as dental mirrors, forceps and impression spoons and the product STERIA oil, for the cleaning and maintenance of handpieces and contra-angles.
The product line "Disinfection & Hygiene" was born.

By 1939, the expansion of the product range together with the rapid increase in order volume had made a move to new premises essential and the company relocated within Karlsruhe from the Leopoldsstraße to the Kriegsstraße.
Development and success in a difficult period

In the years 1942 - 1945 during the Second World War, business was continued despite the loss of several external warehouses, and we were able to meet the requirements of our customers, such as dental wholesale dealers, pharmacies and traders in cosmetic and foot care products on time. This was essentially attributable to our excellent and long-term relationship with raw material suppliers, from whom we continue to purchase high quality goods.
When our founder, Karl Huber, retired from active business life for health reasons in 1968, his wife, Anna Huber, took over the management of the company. In 1981, the company was converted to a general partnership and the management reins were handed over to the daughters of the founder, Doris Huber and Marianne Rust.

At this time, increasing technical demands led to the development of STERIA-SPRAY for cleaning and lubrication of high-speed handpieces. On account of the universal adapter, this product can be used for all types of high-speed handpieces and is now employed worldwide.
The company was again restructured in 1998 to become a limited liability company under the name Favodent Karl Huber GmbH. Because of the expanding business interests of the company, it became necessary to relocate the main offices from the centre of Karlsruhe to the industrial estate Roßweid, Greschbachstraße 17 in Karlsruhe-Hagsfeld, where the central registered offices of the company are still located today.
The success of Favodent was, and still is, closely and inextricably linked to the quality of our services and products.
For this reason, one of the main aspects of our company policy is our insistence on the very highest quality.

At Favodent, customer satisfaction is always our principal aim! In order to maintain and improve the quality of our activities, we operate a comprehensive quality management and quality assurance system.
